ABOUT US

Give your child a helping hand!

Kelsey Dugas was born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. From a young age, Kelsey had a passion for helping others. It was always clear that her path would lead her into a career of helping others navigate their problems. As a young person herself, Kelsey struggled with finding her voice and having the ability to communicate some of her challenges with the adults around her. Her intention is to help create a community where youth feel comfortable expressing, not only their daily struggles, but also who they are as an individual.

She began her journey by completing an Honour's B.A. in Psychology and fell in love with the clinical field. She decided to continue down the path of Social Work as it provided her with many opportunities to grow and gain new experiences. She completed her Master's of Social Work and began immediately working in the field. Kelsey has had experiences across various agencies in the District of Algoma and feels that she has learned from each team she worked on. She has worked in the field of Social Work for about 6 years and loves that she has the ability to continue learning and growing as a clinician and as a person.

Kelsey quickly found passion in working with youth, especially those from the 2SLGBTQ+ community. The focus of her practice is currently working one-on-one with youth who are struggling with various challenges. Kelsey feels that there is a gap in the community in working with these populations and felt as though this was her calling. Although her practice focuses a lot of its time on youth, Kelsey does also work with a variety of adults in the community. Kelsey has also had the ability to join forces with some wonderful organizations that allow her to outreach to individuals in different areas across Canada. She has big goals moving forward and is hoping to one day expand her practice to offer new services such as group sessions.
